Back to the future: Tittel celebrates anniversary

2018 will be a special year! Tittel Feingerätetechnik GmbH & Co. KG will be celebrating 75 years of existence. For three-quarters of a century, the company has been producing precision components for partners around the world from its home base in the Erzgebirge region.

On 15 February 1943, mechanical engineer Johannes Tittel founded a production facility for precision mechanical components in the defunct “Schützenhaus” inn in Frauenstein. At first, the company produced parts for radio and communication equipment as well as for the aviation industry. By developing and producing a modern timer switch, the company attained a monopoly in the GDR. The Tittel family faced a string of challenges, from forced nationalisation, to the economic consequences of the reunification, right through to re-privatisation. ► Timeline

Today, Managing Director Christian Tittel is carrying on the success story of the family business with more than 40 employees and state-of-the-art computer-controlled machinery across an 800 m² production floor. ► Company
